The Best Nutrition Plan to Keep You Healthy

With so many people getting more health conscious, the link between exercise and nutrition is getting more and more apparent. What is the use of exercising and exhausting your body if it is not supported with proper nutrition? Good nutrition is a guarantee that your body will not miss any of the essential nutrients which keep it functioning properly physically and physiologically. As long as you have the appropriate diet you will stay healthy, but you will also feel and look great.
Proper nutrition does not mean starving your body. It is absolutely necessary for you to eat every couple of hours. This is essential because your stomach needs to be filled regularly and kept busy. Having small meals allows your metabolism to work really well.
Lean protein is an essential part of your diet. Non-vegetarian lean protein comes from fish, beef, chicken and turkey and from cottage cheese as well. Plenty of vegetables should be included in your diet. These are going to give you the fiber necessary for effective digestion. Eat carbohydrate-rich foods (potatoes and brown rice) after your exercise sessions. The rest of the meals should include vegetables and lean meats full of protein.
Remember to include 35% of fat in your diet. Animal fat should be kept to a minimum. Olive oil, olives, mixed nuts, flaxseed oil and fish oil are the best sources of beneficial fats. When it comes to drinking, fresh fruit juices are highly recommended, but the best choice is of course water. The frozen desserts, dinners and macaroni are delicious, but they are in the processed foods category. You might want to exchange them for unprocessed foods. Protein shakes as well as supplements should be taken after or before exercising. You should treat yourself to one enjoyable meal once a week. The foods should be rich in carbohydrates and high in calories. In this way you will allow your metabolism to burn more fat.
Remember that proper nutrition is a way of life. So anybody who is under the impression that they will stay healthy if they go on crash diets is deluding themselves. You are always starving your body of its essential nutrients and this is the reason why you should never go on crash diets. Eat healthy, keep healthy! In fact, 5 meals a day are going to make you healthier while starving your body in the hope of losing weight will only harm you.
